The First!

Okay, so I've tried to do this before but never kept it up. This time I'm hoping to pull through and keep a blog about my journey into the "Published Author" world.

I wrote a book when I was seventeen back in 2007. I sent it to how many agents and publishers but it never took off. Assuming it was because of the whole Vampire craze I took a step back and focused on getting another career that will make me money. Went to college for Aesthetics and am now a Personal Trainer. Bam! big turn there! The aesthetics road was good, but the way they took care of things was shameful and every time I had a day off I was at the gym.

In Feb. 2010 I started going to a spinning class called LesMills RPM. It was taught by Karen Richards! Who is the most wonderful person ever! And I caught the addiction! Then Gaspare this guy caught the addiction and he was thinking about being an instructor. I was thinking about it as well, but I didn't want to go up by myself so having him go was a bit of encouragement. My boyfriend had a problem with it, but I asked him to go with me and he didn't want tooooo sooooo ya.

Well it was ten hours on and off a bike. So much fun though. Now, when you become an instructor you have to get CanFitPro certified. WELL Goodlife has their GLPTI (Good Life Personal Training Institute) that gets you personal training certified AND canfitpro. I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone and went to that.

That's where I met the best Boss in the world. Alisa! We talked about eyebrows and how I creep-ed her facebook. I guess she liked me because she suggested I give her my resume. I had the job by the next week :)

That's where I'm at now. I own 2am Publishing as a back up plan if I never get an agent. I'll just go into self-publishing.

I have a few more sips of beer left, so I guess I'll just keep rambling.

When Alisa offered me the job at her gym, I was just about fed up with my aesthetics job. The day I quit was the day I realized I wasn't as appreciated there as I should have been. What they do there, at the spa, is 'punish' you by putting you at the bottom of the 'list'. The list is the order of employees. If you're first, you get booked with clients first. If your last, well you get the most days off. I was in the middle and because I ate an apple when it wasn't my break, I got put to the bottom. THAT'S when I spent the most time at the gym since I had all those days off. SO the day I quit was the spas once-a-month meeting. Its pretty much where they complain about what we're not doing.

Their biggest compliant was how people weren't cleaning. I kinda laughed since when I was working I was always the one staying behind and making sure shit was cleaned and done for the next day. I was the one during my gaps, cleaning and fixing shit, doing my duty and so on. I just found it funny that since I wasn't there as much, stuff wasn't getting cleaned.HA.

THEN the one receptionist goes, "I'd like to say something. I wanna says thanks to so and so for really pulling weight and helping me out even after your shift is done. I really appreciated it". Yea, I didn't get that mention and that's when I got pissed.
Drove home and wrote up my letter of resignation. The two managers were cool about it though and said I didn't have to do my two weeks and that I can go start my new job as PT at Goodlife.

The best part....That night I went to the casino and won 230$$ on a 5cent slot. 5 bucks into 230! Yeee!
