Today I'm going to try and write the ULTIMATE Query Letter! Using Guide to Literary agents 2009/2010/2011.
Thing to make sure I include:
Watch grammar, spelling, word usage and sentence structure.
Make opening paragraph different and surprising while saying what kind of book is it right off the bat.
One page long
TRY and make summary of the book in ONE paragraph
Show them you're dedicated to your writing
Don't say your writing in hope they represent your work, get to the heart of the matter, the Book!
Friends/family readers loved your book-Leave that part out
Mention something personal in the letter to the agent as in: You spoke and blahblah this conferance. So they know their not getting sent a generic letter.
Manuscripts:
Watch for unoriginal plots and Voice.
Write what you love, not what you think will sell!
